About Skaify

Last updated: October 18, 2026.

Skaify is a social app that shows you what's happening in your city, right now, and who to share it with. It helps you pick your plan based on what you like and puts you in the right place, at the right time, to meet the right people. It's on the App Store and on Google Play.

The problem it solves

The good stuff is happening. The problem is finding out. A few blocks away there's a place with something on today, people who are into the same things as you and friends of yours who also want to go out, and nothing brings them together. You end up at the same three spots as always, or at home.

And there's the other half: you can spend the whole night surrounded by people who came to the same place as you, for the same reasons, and not talk to anyone. The apps of the last few years left us very connected and fairly alone.

What Skaify does

Three things, and all three end outside the phone.

  • It shows you what's happening right now. Places and events near you, and what each business says about its place today: live music, an open class, tonight's event.
  • It helps you choose. You tell Skaify what you like and what you're in the mood for, and it suggests real places and events, with their hours and how far away they are.
  • It brings you together with your people. You see what your friends are going to and make plans together. And where you are, you see how many Skaify people are into the same things as you: if you both want to, an alert introduces you right there.

Your location never goes on the map, you have to be friends to message each other, and meeting someone takes two yeses. How it works, in detail, is on the Safety page.

Where it came from

Skaify was born in New York, in the West Village and the East Village, built by Latinos. From there it went to Mexico City. Today it works in any city: when you sign up you pick your country and your city, and if you're the first person there, you're the one who opens it.

Who is behind it

A small team of Latinos. We built it in New York, brought it to Mexico City and now build it for everyone, everywhere. We're not a big company and we don't act like one: if you write to us, someone on the team answers. And if you want to talk to our CEO, the contact section of the home page has a calendar to book a call.

How we make money

Three ways, and we say all three out loud.

  • Skaify Premium. Downloading Skaify is free and the free version actually works. Premium is 19 USD a month or 190 USD a year, with a 7 day trial, and removes the free version's limits; your app store shows you the price in your currency. The first 5,000 people in each city get what Skaify does today free, forever.
  • Business subscriptions. A business pays a monthly or yearly subscription for each location. If it has several locations, it's one subscription and one charge for all of them. With that it shows up on Skaify with its listing, posts its events and says how its place is doing right now.
  • Affiliate commissions. If you buy a ticket from another platform through a Skaify link, that platform may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. It's explained in full in the Affiliate disclosure.

We don't sell your personal information. That's not just a nice line: it's written in the Privacy Policy.

What Skaify is not

It's not a dating app: no swipe, no match. And it's not a feed built to keep you inside: Skaify is made so you close the app and go out.

The motto decides everything else: Skaify doesn't replace human interaction, it sparks it.
